As the world commemorates World Teachers’ Day 2025, the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has paid glowing tributes to Nigerian teachers, describing them as “the bedrock of human capital development and indispensable architects of the nation’s future.”
In a goodwill message issued to mark the global event, Chukwunwike lauded teachers for their tireless sacrifices, resilience, and their central role in nurturing generations of leaders, innovators, and nation-builders.
“Teachers remain the lifeblood of any thriving society. They inspire curiosity, shape values, instill discipline, promote critical thinking, and prepare individuals to become useful agents of a progressive community. My administration will continue to prioritize education and support our teachers in line with our consolidatory agenda,” the council boss affirmed.
He noted that while teachers across the globe are celebrated as instruments of change and vehicles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 4 on Quality Education, Nigerian teachers deserve more than commendation , they deserve tangible reward and improved welfare.
According to Chukwunwike, teaching is such a priceless vocation that it must not be left in the shadow of “heavenly rewards,” stressing that government at all levels and critical stakeholders must accelerate reforms in remuneration, working conditions, and professional development.
“Teachers must be empowered today to build a glorious tomorrow,” he declared, adding that a society that neglects its teachers mortgages its future.
The Aniocha South Chairman further pledged unflinching support to teachers within and beyond his local government, describing them as co-laborers in the mission of national development.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the good people of Aniocha South, I salute our noble teachers for their unwavering service. You are the unseen strength behind every successful leader, every breakthrough, and every nation that dares to dream. We stand with you today and always,” Chukwunwike concluded.
World Teachers’ Day, celebrated annually on October 5th, highlights the crucial role of educators in advancing global education goals and achieving inclusive, equitable, and quality learning for all.
